Something I Need Lyrics Meaning

I think the meaning of this song is a lot deeper than what most people think it really is.
In the first stanza it says that he woke up from a dream about how we only get one life, and he stayed awake and stared at her, so he wouldn't loose his mind. And what I interpreted from this was he wasn't in a good place and he realized that when he woke up from his dream so he satyed up and stared at her, to keep himself relaxed.
In the next stanza it says he had the week that came from hell, and he knew she could tell. But she's like the net under the ledge, when he goes flying off the edge she goes flying off as well. What I interpreted from this was that he had a terrible week,and that he knew she could tell there was something wrong. It seems as though he either tried to or was thinking about committing suicide and throughout the song she's trying to save him from it.
In most of the songs stanzas he says how if we only die once he wants to die with her, and that she's that one person he needs. Out of all the people in the world he is falling in love with her. And as he started understanding why he should stay and not commit suicide she started loosing herself. And that night they got drunk to try drown their sorrows. He said to her that there is nothing to be afraid of because if they loose everytnhing they have, they will still have each other.
In the last stanza he says if we only die once he wants to die with her, if we only live once he wants live with her. And what I interpreted from this was that he does want to die with her, but he wants to live his life with her first.
