Sep 14th 2021!⃝I just studied James 1:2-4 and, when I was scrolling throught my instagram, I saw my favorite band ever singing this song, cellebrating 16 years since the ablum "Nothing is Sound" was released. James says we should be happy when we face trials, because they produce patience and then we became mature and able to handle things. These trials are not temptations. These trials are send by God to make us stronger and prove our faith on Him, not because he needs it, but to show to ourselves what trusting in God can do. And, to achieve it, we have to pass throught trials. We can't avoid them. When I heard this song, I see "the shadow" as the trials, the troubles we face. "Proves" is when our faith is tested by the Lord. "the sunshine" is the result of faith that was tested and succeed on its test: it gains patience and a mature spirit. So, "the shadows proves the sunshine" means "We have to face trials in our lives and, if we get approved, we enjoy the patience and the matureness that only God can provide us".
