People often write lyrics based weakly on something, then change them to rhyme - even if it changes the meaning of the song. This is why some lyrics seem to make sense but are basically just words picked because their percussive inflection matches the melody or beat (or other aspect) of the rest of song. In other words, writing lyrics often involves playing around with an instrument until it sounds right. Then the lyrics are laid down (in a similar way to MC'ing) over the top.
