In the song she sings about music as though it were a person, a girl at that. This is like when a man refers to his car (or other form of transportation) as a girl.
"Her face is a map of the world."
Music is universal (it's everywhere, and each
piece gives a bit of that culture to the listener).
The positive things about this "girl" are all
things that she has experienced, or observed, personally. The song basically tells why music is important to her; "Suddenly I see, why the hell you mean so much to me."
