Mar 15th 2018!⃝My interpretation of this song is, and always has been, that it is about suicidal ideation, and about how if we trust in God, and turn away from Satan (the train’s engineer) we will ultimately choose life over death. Having continually dealt with thoughts of suicide since age 10 or so, this song has been one of a number of things that has helped me to keep going.
