I feel the song is about attempting to resist a potential lover, and it shows how easy it is to give in to what we never dreamed we would ever let happen.

"Inside-out, upside-down,
Twisting beside myself.
Stop that now,
'Cause you and I were never meant to meet.
I think you'd better leave.
It's not safe in here.
I feel a weakness coming on."
In the first few verses, It's plain to see she doesn't want to see him anymore, but the last line "I feel a weakness coming on" hints that she secretly does, but for some unknown reason, (She has someone already, she knows he's no good for her, etc,) she lays down the law by telling him "You'd better leave", and "Stop that now," As in he needs to stop alluring her to fall in love with him.

"Alright then, (alright then.)
I could keep your number for a rainy day.
That's where this ends.
No mistakes no misbehaving.
I was doing so well.
Could we just be friends?
I feel a weakness coming on."
Over time, it depresses her to not see him, and gives in only slightly by "keeping his number for a rainy day," but she reminds him again, that "That's where this ends, no mistakes no misbehaving," And settles with the idea that since she doesn't want to be his lover, but she doesn't want to go without seeing him, that they could "just be friends"... Even then, she's still feeling "The weakness coming on"

The chorus and the reast of the song are obviously her continuing to talk about the struggle, how "It's not meant to be like this" and how it's "not what she planned at all"

Finally, something happens where she's grown so weak fighting the tempation, and suddenly..

"Big trouble losing control.
Primary resistance at a critical low.
on the double gotta get a hold.
Point of no return one second to go.
No response on any level,
Red-alert this vessel's under seige.
Total overload all systems down they've got control.
There's no way out.
We are surrounded.
Give in, give in and relish every minute of it. "

Also, in the chorus she repeatedly blames him for making her fall in love. He have must be a deviously charming individual.
