Sep 17th 2011!⃝The machine could even be the system of man made doctrines that put us into a slumber. In the video, it says "initiate cloyining." We buy the lie that we must fall in line. We buy into what is told to us even at church and we don't even study. This song isn't specifically saying church, but any belief we have that makes us fall in line with a lie deceiving us from our true identity is feeding the machine of man-centered doctrine. Most christians fall into the trap of wanting someone to tell them what to do and believe... just like the nation of Israel wanted a king during the time Samuel was Judge. It's safer to go to sleep metaphorically and let someone other than God be in control. It's a subtle deception because it's cloaked in nice sounding "churchy" stuff that far removes us from His heart with very little clue of who we are and what we were made for.
I think what I like about this song is that it makes one think and I'm sure the artists of Red have there own take too. :)
