The lyrics probably describe what the singer has been through, the eating of foam, being knocked out of breath, you get the idea. They likely reminisce upon this memories from time to time as they seem very miserable.
Singing, "Chance, we ain't gonna hurt you."
The lyrics above are repeated throughout the song until the very last part where the singer actually says "We ain't gonna hurt you."it themselves. This implies the person the singer was (spitefully) talking to themselves for the first half of the song. Now, I'm stumped on the last half but my take is that they found someone who loves them, hence as to why the lyrics are less violent from the previous one.
At this point on, they're talking to the person that they love, or are in a relationship with. The lyrics have changed completely.
"We could eat the foam from the headrest,
You could suck the wind out of my breath,
You can kiss the teeth into my head."
They still have that toxic perception of being hurt as a form of affection but one can notice that it's been toned down a notch. I'm sure it's obvious that lyrics seem to be almost sung lovingly but that could just be me. Again, this is just my interpretation though. I could be completely wrong. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
