Mar 6th 2017!⃝Billy Joel wrote the song for his daughter when she asked him "Where do people go when they die?" He wanted his daughter to forget about her question and go to sleep. Meanwhile, he was writing the song about a man who lost his faith, but changed the lyrics just to help her understand where people go when they die.
